[Monday, March 16th, 2009] Bash Back! is a network of radical trans and queer-identified folks and allies who promote fostering sex-positive, trans and queer-inclusive spaces in Memphis, and eradicating oppressions including (but not limited to) racism, sexism, transphobia, homophobia, and ableism. We oppose many aspects of the mainstream "gay and lesbian" movement, including corporate sponsorship, state-sanctioned marriage, state militarism, racism, and other forms of oppression. Topics will include: An Intro to Consensus-based Decision Making An Intro to BB! & BB! Memphis -A brief History of BB! Locally & Nationally -Why We Support Direct Action -The New Jersey 4 Prisoner Support Campaign -The Justice for Duanna Campaign -The Pepper Spray Project The Chicago Convergence -How to we’re getting there -Housing Issues -What you should bring -What to expect.
